THE EXPERIENCE
Visitors step into an empty space where particles of stardust swirl around them. As they move, the system captures their body through depth tracking and converts each gesture into gravitational pull. Stardust begins to gather. Light intensifies. A star forms.
With continued movement, the star expands and evolves, growing brighter and more powerful. When it reaches critical mass, it collapses into a black hole that consumes the entire screen, offering a dramatic and visually rich finale. The cycle resets for the next visitor, creating an ever-changing, participatory cosmos.
THE TECHNOLOGY
The installation is powered by a TouchDesigner system that integrates depth cameras for accurate full-body tracking. Custom Python scripts powered the interaction logic and progression, while GLSL shaders generate dynamic particle fields, stardust behavior, and black hole visual effects.
The result is a fully responsive environment where celestial events evolve based on each visitor’s presence and movement.
