THE EXPERIENCE

A seasonal remake of an arcade icon

The Doodle transformed the Google homepage into a small Halloween arcade. Players guided a witch-hat PAC-MAN through eight levels, each one introducing subtle mechanics, maze variations, and spooky visual motifs. Four of the levels were designed as haunted houses, with layouts inspired by the personalities and behavior patterns of the ghosts that chased the player.

MY ROLE

Working with Pac Man @ Google

My work began with creating early interaction prototypes for the game mechanics. As development progressed, I focused heavily on bug detection, reproducing gameplay issues, and writing code solutions these bugs, edge-case movement and level transitions. I collaborated closely with the UX engineering team to stabilize the experience during the final polish period. Part of my role involved testing internationalization. Google releases Doodles in an enormous number of languages, and text length varies widely across them. I checked that translations fit correctly within the interface, ensuring nothing broke the layout or balance of the page.
